.  Weather Conditions Precautions should be taken against heat and humidity. Proper hydration and nutrition prior to the race is extremely important as the temperatures in Guam will likely be in the high 80s with humidity in the 80 to high 90 percent range. A long distance event with these conditions can be dangerous for those who are insufficiently trained and prepared. If this is your first time participating in a running event of this length in a warm and humid climate, take fluids at each of the Aid Stations. Race Rules/Course Instructions 1. Timing chip must be secured to each runner’s race number. Failure to do so will result in inaccurate or missing result time. 2. Race numbers must be worn in the front of each runner and clearly visible at all times. Running numbers are not transferable and those not adhering to this rule are subject to disqualification. Race numbers and timing chips cannot be picked up on race day. NO EXCEPTIONS. 3. In-line skates, strollers, pets and bicycles are prohibited on the course, as is the use/wearing of music listening devices. 4. To allow for a smooth race start, please line up according to your estimated finish time. (1hr. 30 – less, 1hr. 30 – 2hrs, 2hrs plus). 5. Stay within the coned lanes to ensure safety as well as to provide runners coming from the opposite direction with a clear path. 6. You must pass through the timing frames at check points along the course. You may be disqualified if there is no record of you passing through the check points. 7. Water and Gatorade will be available at each of the eight Aid Stations. 8. Upon crossing the finishing line please proceed as directed. Once you have passed through the finish area, do not return. Be courteous and make room for other finishers. You will be required to remove and return your timing chip to event personnel immediately after finishing. Failure to do so will result in a replacement fee being charged to you. 9. Runners without an official number may not cross the finish line. 10. Result cards will be available shortly after your finish in the finish line hospitality area. They will be organized alphabetically. Ekiden Relay Instructions 1. Each runner must wear the official "sash" or "tasuki" on each leg of the relay. 2. The first runner will start with the sash and pass it on to the next runner at the pre-determined exchange point. This procedure continues on until the final runner at the last exchange point receives the sash. The final runner then wears the sash until he/she crosses the finish line. Failure to do so may result in a disqualification. 3. Do not forget to bring your team sash as there will be no extras available on race morning. 4. Each relay runner must pass through the timing frame BEFORE handing their sash to the next runner. The sash passed must be passed to the next runner within 20 meters after the relay runner has passed through the timing frame. Your team may be disqualified if there is no record of each runner passing through the timing frames. 5. Each exchange point will be set up to ensure the correct flow of relay runners through the timing frame and to the awaiting relay runner for the sash exchange.
